Blenko Glass executive to speak on failure, success at free community event

"How Failure Can Drive Success" is the topic at the next Thinking Outside the Lunchbox event in Charleston.

W

hen you think of successful West Virginia businesses, Blenko Glass Company is certainly on the list. A family-owned and operated West Virginia company since 1893, it might surprise you that its 100-year history was not one of continuous success.

David Wertz, Blenko’s Vice President of Manufacturing, will discuss "How Failure Can Drive Success" at the Thinking Outside the Lunchbox event on Thursday, April 23, at noon at the UC Downtown Innovation Hub, 240 Capitol St., Suite 100, Charleston.

Wertz will reveal how failure has been a key driver of Blenko’s success. Drawing on stories from Blenko’s long history, Wertz will share lessons learned, challenges faced, and how the team has adapted and grown along the way. It’s a valuable opportunity for entrepreneurs and business leaders to hear how setbacks can become stepping stones to lasting success.

The event, sponsored by Huntington Bank, is free and open to the public. Lunch will be catered by Café Appalachia. Registration is recommended due to limited seating. Those interested can learn more and register here.
